i was one of THEM
have you noticed them too?
Back in the day, I used to be one of them.
‘Fast walkers’ is what I call them now.
They’re the ones zooming through crowds of people, frustrated by the ‘slow walkers’ in their way.
Not only did I get annoyed at people ‘walking slowly’ (seriously)...
They would also trigger this general anxiety inside me.
“Why are you making ME late?!? Get outta my way!”
I’d get stuck behind groups of ‘slow walkers’ and have to hop off the sidewalk and into the street just to hustle past them.
It’s silly behavior when you think about it now.
Why were normal people going about their day bugging the crap out of me?
Years later I realized:
The problem wasn’t their ‘slow’ walking, the problem was my ‘fast’ living.
My life was a mad rush of one thing to the next.
Never really getting anywhere in particular. Or feeling any sense of satisfaction on reaching ‘there.’
And I don’t need to tell you…
This was NOT great for my mental health.
In fact, the ‘fast walking’ may have been indicative of a deep subconscious belief that I was in danger (more on that in the course).
But I was very insecure and it was difficult to be present.
With myself.
With my work.
With my relationships.
Salvation eventually came for me when I ended up working on a farm!
(A story for a different day).
It doesn’t take many 3-5 hour days of hard labor… toiling the land… to teach you that there is no rushing life’s process.
Things happen on their own time and rushing can just lead to self-sabotage.
So, I’m here remind you of a few key lesson in maintaining better mental health in these fast-paced times:
Go slow!
1) Give your body space to feel
2) Giving yourself the space to breathe
3) Giving your nervous system the space to reset
And, the GOOD news:
You don’t have to go work on a farm to experience a shift.
All you need is 20 minute a week.
Lying flat on your back… doing some simple somatic exercises.
It sounds crazy, but soon I’ll show you exactly how.
After coaching 100+ people, I believe anyone can learn whats inside The 20-Minute Neural Reset.
All it takes is a little practice (it’s EASY to learn) and the right system.
Love ya’ll,
