I can't stop thinking about this

(plus an exiting announcement)

In 1961, Carl Jung wrote a VERY important letter.

One that’s been dissected, analyzed, and researched by laymen and mental health professionals alike.

It's a short letter… upon first glance it might not seem like much, but to the trained eye the depth is astonishing.

Jung wrote this letter to Bill Wilson, the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous.

These two men, one who struggled with alcoholism and one a world famous psychologist, understood what few people do.

Especially in our modern western world, where quick fixes often replace deeper wisdom.

I won't go too deep into the letter (it's an easy google), but I'll share my favorite quote—one that perfectly captures an essential truth about true healing:

“I am strongly convinced that the evil principle prevailing in this world leads the unrecognized spiritual need into perdition it is not counteracted by the protective wall of human community.”

- Carl Jung, 1961

In simpler words: without the protection of community, our unmet spiritual and emotional needs lead us toward suffering.

The Protective Wall of Human Community

If you've struggled with mental health, you know how hard it is to do it alone.

That’s why I’ve spent the last few months focused on building one thing dear to my heart: a “protective wall of human community”.

I was lucky to stumble (literally) into 12-step rooms at the ripe age of 22. Since then, I've experienced the power of heart-centered community first-hand.

There is no better way to improve your life than doing it with like-minded folks.

Have you ever thought, "Why do I still feel stuck, even after all this time and effort?"

I hear this all the time.

People who've tried talk-therapy, mindfulness, self-help books, yet still feel something's off.

Here's what most don't realize:

Traditional therapy works largely because of one critical element that's often overlooked: co-regulation within the client-therapist relationship.

This is also why having community is so powerful.

Our nervous systems are designed to co-regulate with others. It’s hardwired biology.

When you're around regulated/secure people, your system naturally begins to sync with theirs. It receives the signal: "It's safe to regulate now."

This co-regulation is something our ancestors understood intuitively. They knew trauma couldn't be processed in isolation, they understood suffering as a collective responsibility.

Years ago, I was exactly where you might be now. I had done the inner work. Talked it out. Tried every breathing exercise in the book. But, I still felt the weight of a thousand unshed tears and unprocessed emotions.

I thought back to my time in 12-step programs and why so many of my clients still struggled after “doing all the right things.”

The missing link—authentic community.

This realization has led me to create something I wish I'd had years ago: a space where healing happens not in isolation, but through connection with others who understand the process.
